Prayer for Passing the Board Exam

Update: Just a little clarification, you don’t pray to St. Joseph to help you pass the exam. You pray to St. Joseph to intercede for you to God to help you pass your exam.

150px-saintjosephcupertino.jpgAll this talk in the blogosphere about people searching for Philippine Nursing Board Exam results made me remember the time I took my own board exam. This was for my Engineering board exam. I passed with flying colors but not without studying my ass off and saying a little prayer to St. Joseph of Cupertino, the Patron Saint for examinees.

It was my mom who taught me this prayer as she knew the stress I was undergoing. The reason behind that was because the exams were nearing and I wasn’t too confident with what my Review School was teaching me. That was after I compared what my other batchmates were learning from the other Review schools. So she slipped me this prayer and told me to pray it for nine days straight and say 3 Our Fathers, 3 Hail Mary’s and 3 Glory Be’s afterwards.

Prayer for a Successful Examination

Oh Great St. Joseph of Cupertino, who while on earth was given the grace of being asked in your examination only the questions you know. Please obtain for me the like favor in these examinations which I am now preparing for. In return, I promise to invoke you and to make you known through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.

Its been about 10 years already, but Thank You Again St. Joseph for helping me pass my board exam. My wife gave this prayer to her sister to help her pass her certification so she could work abroad and she too passed. And yes you can use this for any type of exam not just for major one’s. In return of course, please don’t forget to pass this prayer around in honor of St. Joseph of Cupertino. :D

Update: I just passed my PHP 5 Zend Certification Exam and am now a Zend Certified Engineer. Not bad for only 2 weeks worth of studying, a large part can be attributed to this Prayer, Hard Work (Do your best and let God do the rest) and Faith.

What should you do afterwards? I guess the minimum you can do is to spread this prayer around in honor of St. Joseph. If you want to go further than that, well first, I salute you, for going to the next level of sharing the Grace that you had received from God. I believe that what we have in life all comes from God, and when we give it to those in need, it comes back to us a hundred fold. On my part, I usually have a Thank You Mass said at Church when God had gifted me with a Blessing, aside from that I do other acts of Charity. But please try to do it anonymously and with utmost humility like what Jesus said in the Bible.

Try not to forget also this little blessing from God. So that when you go out in this world you will try to live a moral life. Some choices may be difficult to make, but remember that God always protects and provides for his righteous people. Lastly, kindly remember, that it is our sinfulness that keeps us away from God and the Graces He bestows. But God is always willing to forgive us, if we ask Him to with a contrite heart.

Last month (Aug 2008) my husband passed in a very important German language exam through his intercession. The chances for him to pass was very low and nevertheless he succeeded.     I have written 11 modules over the years and have recited the prayer to St. Joseph of Caupertino and can attest to the power of God in this saint. I have passed all 11 exams and I have law and economics in December 2008 in conclusion of my certification and I know that he is working in my favour once again for success in both exams. These are difficult exams but through my faith I know I can rely on his intercession to assist me in passing them.

I don’t really feel confident about them considering i was going in with a not so good marks and i am totally just relying to my faith in God just to help me accept with it and get on with it in case i don’t pass the courses.     when I take the entrance exam in high school, i didn’t passed the SSC section, on entrance exam in College, I didn’t passed the quota for nursing, for me that is so embarrassing because I graduated with flying colors in high school,,(sighs),a year after now, I will be taking the nursing licensure exam and I’m worried that i cannot pass it.     that i might focus with clarity, peace of mind tomorrow, 10/19 and 10/20 on my medical licensing exams and pass these crucial tests! IJN! I pray for my father in law who is in hospital for a stomach bug, that he will overcome this bump in the road. That all be well on my journey today and while away from my family taking this exam, that i will not encounter any problems during my stay at the hotel, testing site or any other places, that God’s angels will guard me and keep me safe. That our dog C, will be at peace while I am away too. I promise to encourage devotion and donate what i can to pay thanks to St. Joseph of Cupertino in thanks for passing once i get my results!

    thank you all for praying with me for this great challenge, I have had a good day overall, but i have one more day to go, tomorrow! please pray that all will be well, fair and i will never have to worry about this exam, step 3, again! I pray that the other distracting test taker will be sitting far from me tomorrow, as he was panting away in distress and I was not allowed to rearrange seating, this exam is 9 hrs in length, all day! and costs $705 to sit! i can’t afford to not pass, i get my results in about a month, Lord, lead me, guide me to the finish line and let victory be mine to proclaim your name! IJN! get me home safely tomorrow as it will be dark for me to drive home at this time. God be with you all as well!

    want to thank you all for praying with me during these long gruelling months of preparation. I took my tests on both days, 10/19 and 10/20. It costs 25% of the entire exam for both days, so I am really living on a prayer, hoping that I will somehow overcome the needed average to pass this exam, it is a form of torture to sit through so many months of preparing solo, when this medical field is so competitive and overwhelming. I ask that God’s grace will empower me daily to have the faith and hope as i wait out results that are going to be around in 3 or 4 weeks, that too, is so anxiety causing. I pray for peace mentally, as i am carrying a life within me that needs me to be calm so i can bring her into the world with a calm state of mind. I am open to God leading me to other options if I am not meant to practice as a dr, but I have plenty of debt i need to repay. I know that God has sustained me all these years, through the darkest valleys, this is not a big deal for Him, I pray that I will find the success that I have worked so hard to achieve. IJN!
