On his birthday on the 24th of August, Reggie Miller decided to not do a Michael Jordan and comeback to professional play. This was after he was offered a roster spot on the Boston Celtics. A trade which sent Kevin Garnett to the Celtics for Theo Ratliff, Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Gerald Green and Sebastian Telfair has just been completed between Minnesota and Boston. Definitely the biggest news this preseason. Oh yeah, they tossed in two picks too to sweeten the deal.

If ever there is any contest to the fact that the San Antonio Spurs have a dynasty on their hands, then it is the proof that they have won the last 4 of the 9 finals that will quiet them down. Some say that it was the most boring finals ever with the most boring of teams winning the championship. I say that that is just a result of bad media plugging that during the series. The harsh reality is that it is the fundamentally sound team that usually wins championships in the World Arena and that is the reality that USA basketball is facing right now as it tries to claw its way back to former Olympic glory.
