Easy way to remove potato skin…

My apologies as I forgot where I got this link from… I think it was from reddit but I’m not so sure…

The clip shows you how to strip the skin from a potato… first you shallow slice it on the surface, then boil it, which cooks it in the process… then you dip it in ice filled water… the effect is that it contracts from it’s previous expansion when it was heated therefore allowing you to pull the skin apart.

Since we’re not really a potato eating country since our staple is rice… this might come in handy for those who like to boil sweet potato…

250px-Lance_Armstrong_AdH01.jpgI had the chance of reading Lance Armstrong’s life story in the Mabuhay magazine of Philippine Airlines that I chanced upon while waiting in somebody’s office.

The guy has led a very inspiring life. He set’s a record for the most number of wins in the Tour de France (7 times). The press was actually referring to it as the Tour de “Lance.” What’s remarkable about it was that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, was able to recover from it and go on to win a couple more titles. He did it by travelling the hard route. During his therapy, he chose a more difficult path which would spare his lungs from the dangers of chemotherapy. The lungs were his reason for success as they could absorb more oxygen than the average man, which is necessary for endurance runs and sudden bursts of energy.
