78th Oscars…

I wasn’t able to watch it live because I was fast asleep… so I just hopped on over to the Academy Awards website and snuck a peek at the winners…

Surprising that Broke Back Mountain didn’t runaway with the best picture award (that went to Crash) as what was initially predicted… they got however, best director, adapted screenplay and original score… Crash and Broke Back Mountain went home with 3 awards, surprisingly so did the movie Memoirs of a Geisha (Art Direction, Cinematography, and Costume Design)

Looks like a well balanced Oscar’s night to me…

I just realized that the American Academy Awards has always been one of my paradigms… meaning that I have always perceived it to be as “The” awards that one must achieve in order to be recognized by the movie industry…

A new British sitcom was launched, entitled The IT Crowd. It revolves around the life of 2 IT geeks and their new female supervisor, who knows nothing about IT.

Battle of Britain…

Today I watched something I haven’t watched in a long, long, long, long, long time…

Battle of Britain was filmed in 1969 with an allstar cast… including Christopher Plummer, Sir Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine… it tells the tale of the Royal Air Force’s gallant stand against the German Luftwaffe poised on invading the British Isles during world war II.

Starwars: Clone Wars

Clone Wars were a series of cartoon shorts in the Cartoon network. From what I remember, the animators were the same guys who gave us Samurai Jack. I think they were given free hand by George Lucas to develop the cartoon based on a storyline plot that he gave. Talk about wetting our apetites for Episode 3 as well as fill in the gaps between episode 2 and 3. It’s basically old formula already, as the Wachowski brothers already did this with the Animatrix for the Matrix Series.
