Creativity

My wife and I are amazed with our son’s development. Particularly his creativity. He can use items to mimic other items that takes his fancy.

For instance, he’s grown fond of watching the folks who use weed cutters in our neighborhood. Because of this he got my old golf club and starting carrying it like a weed cutter, swinging it left to right and even making the buzzing sound of the weed cutter. When we stopped him from doing this, for fear of him breaking something in the house, he got a push pull toy with a stick at its end (during a shopping trip in Uyanguren) and proceeded to play with it like a weed cutter. One time we were able to watch one of the weed cutter men stop to refuel. Because of that my son was able to add to his repertoire the act of pull starting his “weed cutter.”

He also got interested in cooking, having seen the people in the house cook meals. He asks for the frying pan and the correct ladle and places it on a monobloc bench.

He mimics turning on the stove by turning on an imaginary switch.

His powder is the seasoning that he pours on the imaginary food to give it taste. He even pinches imaginary salt and pours oil onto the concoction. After mixing the food (some bits and pieces of toys that he puts in the pan) he will get the ladle and taste it to check if it is cooked already. If you’re lucky, he will even let you taste it to ask for your opinion.

Last night he saw a tv cameraman operate his camera. So my son picked up his toy and proceeded to wield it as the cameraman did.

All that and he hasn’t even reached 2 years yet.

I read somewhere (I think from Bo Sanchez) that when you pray to God your prayer should include A.C.T.S. Which is Adoration, Contrition, Thanksgiving, and Supplication to God.

So when I pray to the Lord before I start the day and when I end it… I always Thank the Lord for Blessing me with this beautiful son that warms our hearts and makes us proud.

Here’s hoping he doesn’t see bad guys around. :D

But your son’s development is fast, huh? You’ll be surprised that one day, he’ll pressure you to get an extra laptop because he wants to blog too. Hehe.
