Uno of Good Child
The first pug born out of our registered stock has found a good home in Manila… Christened Ug Junior, he was named after his Dad. We call him Junior for short because calling him Ug Junior causes both him and his Dad to come to you.
Yup, we didn’t have the heart to sell him anymore so we gave him to my Mom… she ecstatically said “Yes” when we asked her if she wanted to adopt him. My Mom’s pug died about 2 years ago, she was quite old already having seen me through college and two company changes. It feels weird seeing my Mom walk around the house without a Dog trailing after her having grown so accustomed to it.
We sent Ug Jr. via Cebu Pacific Air Cargo. Prior to that he had to wait a week in our house after we secured his anti-rabies shot at the Davao City Vet Office (near City Hall.) City Vet said that this was a requirement by Airport Quarantine. He wasn’t able to catch the first trolley ride to the plane, so as concerned “parents” we waited in the warehouse with him for the next trolley to the plane.
My wife and I were talking about how different he was from the different pug puppies we’ve had, it’s like he was ingrained with “charisma.” We sure do miss him right now but we know that he’s in a good home… meal time feels empty without him scratching up my leg…
