Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill

I don’t know why I suddenly remembered the comedic duo of Bud Spencer and Terrence Hill. I’m thinking its because I’ve been doing so much hard thinking about my past that it probably awakened some deep buried memories within the recesses of my brain. Then again it could have just been dumb luck for me to suddenly remember them.
The first time I watched these two was when I was a young boy. I can still distinctly remember the shrill laughter of my mother who was sitting beside me in the movie house as she laughed at the antics of these two.
In the movies they starred in they were usually the underdogs. Their movies was characterized as slapstick in nature and often climaxing in a big fight where the two beat up the bad guys single handily in their crusade to help the “little guy”. Or at least in the movies of theirs that I watched.
Thanks to the wonder that is known as the “Internet” I got to learn a little bit more about this duo, whose voices seemed to be always out of sync with their lips. Turns out the reason behind that was because they were Italian and those movies were dubbed. Can’t blame me for not knowing, with names like that you’d think they were American.
For a while I remembered me and my cousins going ga-ga over these two as we mopped up their movies in the local betamax rental shop. We watched their movies all afternoon till the early evening, while munching down on some pot cooked popcorn and sipping on some strawberry flavored julep juice (yep, they don’t make them anymore)
Boy, I sure do miss the good all days.
