ust_growling_tigers_logo.pngUAAP Defending Champs, University of Santo Tomas, knocked out the FEU Tamaraws with a convincing 80-69 win to take the last slot in the step-ladder race to the Season 70 finals against the UE Red Warriors. The Tamaraws came out with guns blazing in the first quarter erecting a 7 pt lead before the Tigers gained their composure and clawed back.

And this was just about the time when the power conked out again in the beautiful Typhoon Free City of Davao caused by a defective relay at the Kibawe Sub-Station in Bukidnon. This left the entire city with either intermittent power or next to no power. Power normalized at 4PM when they finally found what was causing the power to unexpectedly trip and I was finally able to catch the tail end of the 3rd Quarter where the Tigers were leading by more than 20 points.

Prior to that the entire morning was nothing but an utter frustration as the power was turning off and on… best to unplug everything least some electronics get damaged with the power surges.

So my Sincerest Apologies to those who waited (605 hits as of the last count) for the live blog of the game which I was intending to do but events beyond my control left me without electricity. :D

But hey!, the great news was that UST won and the young FEU squad gained some experience cutting its teeth against some seasoned vets. That’s one scary team to face next year, unless Mr. Montinola plans to toss up the line-up again *snicker*
