Update: DLSU wins 85-81. Finally a break out game for DLSU’s Bader Malabes. With JV Casio checked by NU’s speedier guards, Malabes stepped up and contributed 18 pts, 4 reb and 2 steals.
Walsham and Co were sick but still found enough strength in them to suit up for the game. Walsham was instrumental in keeping NU’s Lingao-Lingao in check while contributing 4 key baskets to the game. Rico Maierhofer, who was plagued by fouls, contributed 8 points to the win along with his high intensity of play and some much needed FT’s to hold the Bulldogs at bay in the 4th.
NU was threatening at the end of the 4th quarter, but DLSU’s steady plodding enabled them to hold on to the lead. Something I haven’t seen in a long time executed by DLSU, till this game, were some backdoor play’s. These passes were crisply done by Cholo with Rico on the receiving end.
