UAAP Thursday…

UAAPOk I admit that I’m partial to Ateneo and La Salle games. La Salle because it was my Alma Mater and Ateneo because my dad was an alum and we built a bond on Ateneo-La Salle games. Our family was basically split evenly down the middle with some going to Ateneo and La Salle while the black sheeps went to UP… hahaha… *kidding*.

Any-who, today’s Thursday matchup’s are as exciting as can be. First off we have FEU and UE going head to head at 2PM. UE Red Warriors, the top dawg in the UAAP heap right now with an unbeaten record going up against the FEU Tamaraws. One of the most talented teams in the league but saddled by their tendency to blow hot and cold inbetween quarters. I say a talented FEU team because of the multi-role and multi-offense capability of their big men.

The agility and speed of their big men is overshadowed by the fact that these guys can score from everywhere. Now I know why Anton Montinola was “ballsy” enough to announce that he was blowing up his team after a dismal UAAP Season 69 performance. Because he had Cawaling, Baracael and Adolfo waiting in the wings. Reminds me of the Nino Gelig, Cyrus Baguio and Derrick Hubalde troika that UST had.

The second game is the UP Fighting Maroons going up against the Adamson Falcons. The two teams who have yet to win one in UAAP Season 70. This is a battle for cellar dwellar position. I remember watching UP’s last game and Boom Gonzales mentioned that UP had the league’s worst stats. Opponents points and scoring were the only thing that I remembered. But hey, like they say, when school pride is on the line, throw the stats out the window because the team with the biggest heart usually wins.

    Hi lordjubart!

Sorry none for today. Come to think of it. Nobody really asked me to live blog other games.

Time permitting, I think I should start live blogging other games for the benefit of those who don’t have access to the UAAP this season :D

Thanks for the kind words Annie.
