Davao City: A Source for Cheap Dogs?
I got surprised that there are a lot of cheap Pugs in Davao. I learned this after helping to organize a Dog Costume contest recently, having mingled with some of the audience as well as with my fellow organizers.
A Pug without any PCCI papers can go for as low as Php 10,000. A Labrador Retriever can also fetch a much lower price. I guess for lack of a market, dog breeders in Davao have no recourse but to sell the pooches at a cheaper price.
Of course the more entrepreneurial breeder should opt to sell their pooches in Manila where they can fetch a higher price. Likewise, the opportunistic tourist in Davao can snag more than just Durian fruit as their take home pasalubong by buying a Pug in the city. Of course the cage to transport the dog is something that he also has to consider during purchase.

Japs spitz are very good guard dogs, light sleepers, brave and very loyal… I used to have a spitz as a pet… in fact the very first dog I could say that considered me as her master.
That pug looks very insulted that its being sold cheap!!
