Shifting Sands…

My mother called me up two days ago to inform me that my Uncle passed away… he was the youngest in the family and looked very much like my Dad. To the point that my cousins and I look alike. He was 71 years old already and he succumbed to an early morning heart attack.

He was one of the nicest guys you could ever meet who cared so much about helping others. He also loved and cared about his family deeply without fault. He was very close to my Dad because they were close in age and the young ones in the family always stuck together as my Dad once told me… My brother left his practice to fly to Bacolod to grieve with the family as well as to function as our representative.

And now I add another name to the name of relatives whose souls I pray for before I go to bed… and to whom I light a candle for whenever I go to church….

I hope when I die, my family will still remember me long after I’m gone and continue to pray for my soul and have mass said for me. Especially during my birthday and death anniversary.
