Wow, I was surprised that the Davao Region was one of the top four regions in the Philippines that had the highest voter turnout.

The top 4 regions with the highest voter turnout according to the Comelec:

Region 1 - Ilocos (82 to 83 percent), Region 5 - Bicol (80 to 85 percent), Region 10 - Northern Mindanao (80 to 85 percent) and Region 11 - Davao (80 percent).[source]

Way to go Davao!… now that’s participation for you… it could either be a testament to our interest in voting… or an indication that we have very accessible precincts owing to the infrastructure we have in place.

Hmmm. At first glance I was happy with the figures. But I just wanna ask, is this 80% of the voting age population or just 80% of the registered voters? I wonder now what is the percentage of the voting age population actually registered this election. Just a thought. But thanks for the info, it’s still a positive result nonetheless. =)
