A few days ago he was found slithering along our garden and as fate would have it, the guy we hire to tend the garden every month was in the house. So it was swiftly dispatched with a bolo. I was asleep at that time.

I was contemplating whether to have this snake killed or not as i was not sure if it was really poisonous. Also, since that one time we came face to face, he turned tail and slithered away from me quickly. If this was its reaction to humans, then I found no point in trying to end its life since it meant no harm.

Information on this particular snake was something I couldn’t find in the internet so I couldn’t pass judgement right away. Looks like I don’t have to anymore.

Then you decide to throw the peelings on my roof which clog my drains… go ahead.
Then when there are no more fruits left you decide to throw rocks… hey, take the whole thing…

A few months later I find out that my house is leaking because those rocks made holes on my roof…

That’s it… No more Mr. Nice Neighbor… the next person who throws anything on my roof will be tossed there too…

I subscribe to the “give your other cheek” and the “give to the less fortunate” practice but yeah I have my limits… even if they are just neighborhood kids…

So I decided to take a break to rest my tired eyes and brain. My usual breaks usually include making coffee, fixing myself something to eat, or going out for a smoke (yeah I’m smoking again)… this time I took a slight deviation from the norm by getting my wallet, car keys and heading out to the gas station to buy a pack of cigarettes…

Not wanting to waste the moment of being out of the house and enjoying the solace of the wee hours of the morning I decided to extend this break a little further by trying to find out where 15 minutes of driving will take me. So I exited on the Bukidnon-Davao Highway and found myself 15 kms from my house after 15 minutes of driving. I think I consumed about 2 liters worth of gas on that jaunt.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for long drives…. worth the P159.00 spent.

I guess if I were anymore daring (and had more money in my wallet) I would have ended up in Bukidnon, to introduce myself to an uncle that my brother was asking me to go up there and visit.
