Least I forget, I want to thank Bank of the Philippine Islands for removing their interbank transfer charges. So if I wanted to deposit to an account in the Babuyan islands from Davao, any over the counter transfers won’t incur any bank charges. Works for foreign currency transactions too. They said that it only started on January 2007. I wonder how they’re planning to make up for this lost income?

Of course I still can’t forget the time they charged me P 100 for withdrawing a large amount from my own branch because I didn’t want to use the ATM. It happened when I was paying for my wife’s delivery. I wanted 1000 peso denominations so that I didn’t have to lug that much cash around. I did an over the counter withdrawal in the same branch my account was at. The lady in charge wanted to charge this transaction because they were encouraging all users to use their ATM. For lack of time because my wife needed to be discharged already least we be charged for another stay in the hospital I had no choice but to accept the bank fee.

I actually deleted that original post in this blog, I wonder why I did that? Oh yeah, out of respect for my Dad who once worked for Ayala and Co. Great bosses in fact. Just sad that the assholes underneath can sometimes destroy a “great boss’” image.
