Yes Virginia, There is no Limbo
Interesting development with my Catholic Faith this week. The Vatican released a document, via the Church’s International Theological Commission, stating that there is no “Limbo.” Initially I thought, HUWATTTT? no Limbo? what happens to us who died with Venial Sins? does this mean we can’t go to Heaven anymore?
Turns out I was mistaken as the final cleansing place is known as Purgatory.
Which is defined as:
“All who die in God’s grace and friendship, but still imperfectly purified, are indeed assured of their eternal salvation; but after death they undergo purification, so as to achieve the holiness necessary to enter the bliss of heaven.”
Purgatory has a very dominant place in our belief and practices as those who are alive pray and offer Mass continuously for the souls of those who have died in order that their sins may be forgiven and that they be granted passage into the God’s Kingdom.
With the dismissal of Limbo, the belief that Babies who die without being baptised and will therefore never be able to share God’s Grace is removed. As a Catholic we were always taught how to baptise people near death into the Catholic faith. Sort of like an emergency power given to the faithful because of the gravity of the situation. It was further reminded during a mandatory seminar my wife and I had to take prior to the baptism of my son.
And who said the Catholic faith was boring? Depends really on how you view it*snicker*

I never believed in limbo. I also don’t believe in baptism, original sin, venial sin, Adam and Eve.
I’m left-handed. In grade 2, my stupid teacher (2-B) told me that I’m not allowed to do the sign of the cross with my left hand. If my left hand is not allowed to it than my right hand refuses to do it. I never did the sign of the cross again.
Hmmm.. that’s weird, I never knew that you had to make the sign of the cross with your right hand. I know that some Faith’s are different than ours when crossing the sign of the cross, meaning right to left
