Dropped out of radar for a while…

Yep, been doing field work so I haven’t been able to blog (sounds like an echo of a previous post)… to the extent that I’ve reached the eastern part of the Visayas already… so it looks like I’ve tripled the current distance I’ve previously traveled… the great thing about this trip is that I didn’t have to drive a single kilometer… too bad however that I wasn’t able to get Smart 3G to work on my phone, hence wasn’t able to get online to check mail and blog and stuff… I have to remember to go to the Smart Wireless Center and ask them how to set it up…

I would have loved to blog about it at the travel blog… except that we hardly had time to stop for social shots… except maybe for some stolen shots I took of Catbalogan, in Eastern Samar… except for the vehicles and the occasional cellphone reloading station, you’d think that that town was trapped in time… Leyte also seems like an island preserved in the past… the streets of Ormoc are narrow and the buildings are old, there is no mall… yet…

If you want to get away from it all, in some place that is cheap (heck you can buy a hectare for only Php 10,000 here) I’d recommend Leyte… except of course I’d also have to recommend that you spend extra in making your home typhoon proof… I noticed a considerable amount of foreigners in the city… according to our guide it’s because they married residents of the island…

Afterwards the team and I caught a plane from Cebu to General Santos, from there we caught a bus to Marbel to work on our report… after finishing up my teams contributions to the report I headed home to good old Davao City… when I got off the bus, the person sitting on the front seat asked if she could have my ticket for her liquidation… I said that I needed it too for my liquidation *snicker*…

adsc00607.jpgBeing away for so long from son made me notice how much he has grown up in just the span of a week… his eyes are bigger and he reacts more to his environment… made me mention to my wife that they sure do grow up so fast *sigh*

Maybe in a couple more weeks he’ll start tugging at my shirt and ask me if he can borrow the car keys *snicker*
