Land of Chicken

gallo_di_profilo_archite_01.pngDavao is known as the Land of Promise… one thing I learned today is that it could also be known as the Land of Chicken… One could easily see our fowl friends wherever one goes in the City: roasting on the side of a road, walking across the street, tied up on some lot, holed up in a cage, chilling out in your local suparmarket’s frozen section etc…

That would be understandable of course given that we are mostly an agricultural based economy, with Davao City being the hub of business, so almost all produce gets trucked in here… and the fact that we produce a lot of eggs, so when the time comes that those layers don’t lay eggs anymore, one way of efficiently disposing of them is to turn them into roasted chicken…orrrr? … Is it because we just love our damn chickens so much?… *snicker*

Slightly Off Topic: Our friends from Manila have all noticed the proliferation of Kookel’s franchises in every street corner…if I were a huge multinational, I would kidnap the franchising whiz in charge of Kookel’s Davao…

Hahaha… guess that means you’re ilonggo… I’m 3/4 ilonggo also… hehehe… one of my regrets in life is not being able to speak in ilonggo… aside from it’s other uses, it would have been a great way to land a date with girls… luzon girls can’t seem to resist the accent… errr, not that I was into social dating at that time in college… *snicker*
