Improvised Baby Hammock

Boy, do I feel dumb today?… I spent 500 bucks and an hour looking for a hammock in the downtown area for our son because other parents have been advising us to get one so that our son won’t ask to be carried all the time… we were trying to figure out how to fasten the spankingly new hammock in our room when our household help whipped out an extra bedsheet and fashioned one right inside our son’s crib…

I would have said that he started sleeping like a baby afterwards except that I realized that that statement is a bloody lie… babies are such light sleepers… *snicker*

I’m looking forward to some very *long* and restful sleep for the entire family. The hammock I bought was expensive because I got the softest material possible, the others were rough nylon that I knew could scar our baby’s soft skin, the cloth of the bedsheet is even softer. Putting the hammock in the crib is another failsafe, incase the knots come undone and the hammock should accidentally fall, our baby will fall onto the soft bedding of the crib.

I just love simple solutions to problems :D

Hi bai. This reminds me of childhood. Our mother used to do the same thing out of a blanket. But unlike your baby, we didn’t have a crib to catch us in case we fall. Hehe. The trick was to make the hammock “deep” so it won’t go upside down. Lumalaki na baby mo ah. Ayo-ayo bai.

[…] We also finally put to use that hammock I bought him a few months back… we hung it outside of our house under a tent that we use to shade our clothesline… kinda like putting Lil Hoop out to dry after his bath *just kidding my son*… he’s still not fond of it though… he prefers you accompany him on the hammock rather than him going solo… […]
