Davao is known as the Land of Promise… one thing I learned today is that it could also be known as the Land of Chicken… One could easily see our fowl friends wherever one goes in the City: roasting on the side of a road, walking across the street, tied up on some lot, holed up in a cage, chilling out in your local suparmarket’s frozen section etc…

When I was courting my wife, I would call her by her first name and she would call me by mine… a year into our relationship I was calling her by my pet-name for her and she would be calling me by her pet-name for me… come marriage and I was still calling her by her pet-name and she was calling me by her pet-name for me… now my son comes along and as if automatically I started calling her “Mommy” and she started calling me “Daddy…”

Go figure why this sudden change of handles occurred sporadically… which leads me to conclude…that once our son has kids of his own, I might start calling my wife “lola” (grandmother) and she would start calling me “lolo” (grandfather)

And no, my real name isn’t “Hoop” it’s just a handle I use on the internet, likewise with Hoop Jr…. *snicker*

My sister swears by it… her daughter, my niece… is 3 years younger than her sister… she started taking cherifer when she was still a baby… she is now only an inch shorter than her older sister… as with my other friends and in-laws who say that their kids grow faster and are more active and smart… of course my nurse cousin says that genetics still plays a large part in it…
