Foiled again at the PRC…

This is the 3rd time I went to the PRC… I thought it would be the next to the last time I would have to go there then good riddance till after 3 years when I have to renew my license again… well looks like I was dead wrong…

I went there yesterday to pick up the application form and the requirements. So today before I went in I did a doublecheck to make sure that there would be no reason for me to not be able to enter the PRC.

  1. 2 passport sized pictures with name tag…CHECK
  2. a photocopy of current license…CHECK
  3. pants…CHECK
  4. no children and babies with me…CHECK
  5. no companion with me…CHECK
  6. money to pay for the renewal…CHECK

Yep, made sure that I followed all of the “dont”’s plastered on the walls before I went in…

After falling in line with 5 people infront of me, I patiently waited for my turn on the que… when it got to me the lady got my papers and stapled my id picture… she then asked where my Certificate of Good Moral Conduct was from the PSME (Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers)… whoa???… that didn’t seem to be in the requirements… she said that it had been implemented about a year ago… so I guess that means that those application forms they’re giving out are more than a year old *snicker*

If they really want to know my Moral Character they should ask my priest, not the PSME… heck I confess all my sins to him…

Looks like this is going to be the third time I’m going to have to wear pants because of the PRC…

    hi, i came across your blog while i was googling for license-renewal requirements. i did call PSME-Cebu, and the secretary told me that the requirement of the Certificate of Good Moral Conduct has been suspended for the moment. maybe, they’re imposing different req’s for different regions? :)

    Wow! if that’s the case then dapat pati sa Davao suspended na ang requirement na yan :D

    Could have saved me a few hundred pesos :(

    i also renewed my license this May at PRC manila.. same as your story.. they need a Good Moral from PSME which costs at 2k pesos. Just give them 2k, fill up the form and PRESTO your a GOOD MORALLED Mechanical Engineer. (How will they know?). And i even asked the Lady at the counter if whether they had a database for Lifetime PSME members and she said “Ahmmm.. Wala pa po sir…” hahahaha…

    My co workers are now having second thoughts on renewing their license.. imagine 2k per 3 yrs.. prof ME is not that different from non prof based from my exp.. unlike prof CE which could sign plans and stuff…

    @concerned ME

    Maybe you can try joining a PSME with lesser fees for the Good Moral Certificate? I think I paid something less than 1k for that in Davao.
