The worst…
My wife woke me up at 5 AM this morning… she had some very bad contractions beyond the 4 that is allowed within an hour and to top it off, pain in her lower stomach… therefore had to rush her to the hospital… we were admitted in the delivery room…
Upon checking, her cervix was still closed, so there was hope… they hooked her up to a machine that would measure her contractions… it was very strong, bad news all the way for us… they hydrated her via dextrose and just let her continue taking her medicines… if her condition didn’t improve, they were going to inject her dextrose with something that could stop the contractions… good thing it didn’t come to that…
At 6 PM they wheeled her into the ward since the contractions had subsided as with the pain… then this evening she started feeling pain again and her stomach hardened… i kept telling her to relax and stop worrying… the doctor told her to rest… good thing her stomach softened and her mild contraction stopped…
According to the doctor, the result of the contractions was a UTI infection… so she’s now on antibiotics and stuck in the hospital (I upgraded her now to a private room) till her contractions subside… I went home after somebody came by to relieve me… tomorrow I’ll just check up on her as I have to work… well, today I had to work but I told them I couldn’t go…
It’s all in the God’s hands now…
There was another bright spot today, that our son is still very active in his mothers womb… they had a cow bell in the delivery room which they rang in order to get a response from the mothers who were ready to give birth… whenever they rang the bell it was my son who kept kicking his mother’s stomach…
Hang in there my son!

Sometimes I wonder if God reversed the roles of men and women. Imagine we could be the ones feeling the child kicks in our belly. God has great plans. I am sure he has one for your son.

[…] Two days ago my wife woke me up telling me that she was in labor… The signs were all there, pain in her back and her thighs, constant contractions at constant intervals of 10 min each… my wife already packed everything a couple of weeks before and I brought along my laptop bag and all the stuff I needed for work… a few minutes more from Brokenshire hospital and she said that the pain was increasing, so I gunned the engine even more… I was thinking that every minute would count just incase her water broke in the car… Straight into the ER we got the advice to go immediately to the Delivery Room… a very familar place for us… after a few more tests of her contractions she was advised to be admitted immediately with 4 minute contractions spaced 10 min apart and a 2 cm open cervix… after admitting her to the DR, booking her room and making sure that all the stuff she would need was with her; I stepped out to do what fathers normally do when the mothers are in labor… […]
