I was talking to a Jeepney operator this afternoon and I asked him if the cops ever extort his drivers for protection money. He said that it rarely happens, only the brazen cop would dare to extort money with self invented traffic violations as well as accept bribes for being let off of a traffic violation. If ever his jeepney drivers get caught, they have to troop to the local LTO and pay their fines.

So why are our cops like these? According to him it’s because of our Mayor… as well as the fear of appearing in the local news for being a “kotong” cop *snicker*…

Well based from my own experience, I wouldn’t be surprised…
