Graduation Season…
You know it’s March already in the Philippines when you start hearing Raymond Lauchengco’s Farewell Song playing on the airwaves *snicker*
Definitely the best Anthem for a graduating class… coming from a catholic school… the mere playing of that song on a class retreat would automatically get the masses bawling… coupled with a candle in a darkly lit room…
I have to say that song also helped launch a thousand 3 month relationships *snicker*… yup, “must get highschool crush to answer me before we graduate” was on my checklist for things to do… but it lasted more than 3 months, 6 and a half years to be precise…
Funny I have to mention about graduation… it was special for me when I was in highschool because these were the guys I spent 11 years of my life with… the thought of leaving the hallowed and soothing walls of your highschool for the wide open spaces of the South Super Highway could form a tear in your eye… not to mention the thought of enduring the 1 hour commute to school…
Come college I didn’t even bother to go to my graduation… to the consternation of my buddies and ex- girlfriend of course… hey I enjoyed your company and wanted to share in the experience, but I found it immoral to ante up the graduation and photography fee… this wasn’t how I wanted my parents to spend their last buck on me… considering that I still had to pass my board exam *snicker*
i can still remember our song … with a smile by eraserheads… hehehe
