Yesterday, all we had were spots of rain… well, it had been continous for a long time already… helps the bananas I’ve planted… today however was the first time for me to experience non stop rain… when I went to sleep it was raining… when I woke up it was still raining… today in the evening… guess what? still raining…

This isn’t good already for the bananas because flooding causes diseases. 48 hours is the max time that a field can remain flooded…

I hopped on over to the weather site and saw a satellite shot of our area… extreme cloud cover I have to say… the weather forecast for the suceeding days was as gloomy as the satellite shot… rain, rain and more rain…

I saw in the news that people in Davao del Norte have it worse… there are even talks of calling it a calamity area already…

Since we’re into the subject of peeling (see my previous post)… I might as well post this one as well… I found this while snooping around Youtube…

Shows you how to peel shrimp cleanly and easily, all you need is a pair of scissors… one thing I’ve learned about fresh shrimp however, was that the skin would stick to the meat… that was caused by the salt water still in their lungs… the trick was to dip them in fresh water so that the lungs could expel the saltwater…

The clip shows you how to strip the skin from a potato… first you shallow slice it on the surface, then boil it, which cooks it in the process… then you dip it in ice filled water… the effect is that it contracts from it’s previous expansion when it was heated therefore allowing you to pull the skin apart.

Since we’re not really a potato eating country since our staple is rice… this might come in handy for those who like to boil sweet potato…

About a week back I already saw a link for Seth Godin’s talk at Google. I paid no attention to it till now…what happened next was a 48 min education on the new wave of marketing being preached by Mr. Godin… which was great because he really is an expert and it saved me the trouble of reading his books…

And another great thing about it was it was all on Google’s dime… thank you Google for giving me a free ride on something that I can’t afford in real life…
