Alex Compton
Alex Compton is an American. His parents are both Americans. Yet, he chose to live in the Philippines after growing up here. He speaks very fluent tagalog (and a splash of the Ilokano dialect). He is a great basketball player and once played for the MBA (before it closed down.) Time and time again he has tried to enter the PBA but never made it because of his foreign citizenship. He can play, but only as an import.
In a country that likes to make exceptions from the norm… shouldn’t we make one for an “adoptive” son? That has made our country his home and even acts more Filipino than others?
I think we should… so please let the man play…

i like his playing style. bullet passes, steals, assist. can’t he change his nationality?
pero sayang yung american citizenship niya… hehehe
oo nga naman. di ko ipagpapalit yun sa pagka-filipino. hehehe… *balimbing
Hey, buddy, do you know how I can reach Quinito Henson or Chino Trinidad? Their e-mails are not posted at Philstar.com and the PBL Web site. I think I have found a way (ergo, legal basis) for Alex to play in the PBA.
Hi Lex, Sorry but I don’t know either. Maybe you can try calling the Philippine Star and ask them that information?(632) 527-7901
Or try emailing one of the newspapers heads:

[…] After a lot of tries, Alex Compton has finally been allowed to play in the PBA. The main barrier to him joining the premier professional league in the Philippines before has been the fact that he’s not a Filipino. […]
