Renewable Energy…

Looking at the Philippine Star business section. Almost all articles touches on the topic of renewable energy…

From:

1. Petron supplying Napocor’s biodiesel.
2. Gov’t being warned to not import sugar as the world market price is really high due to the main exporters (South America) converting their sugar to enthanol. This could revive the flagging sugar industry… sigh, what a great time to enter the sugar industry.
3. Government giving special privileges by extending the franchises of public vehicles using…you guessed it… alternative energy…

I’d like to link to the articles, but Philstar’s archiving really sucks…

Touching on the subject of gasoline prices, after some tension in the Iran Nuclear Power issue slightly simmered down, world oil prices have gone down $60 a barrel. Shouldn’t it be time for a rollback?

We all know that almost all areas which produce oil are hotspots for conflict (Iraq, Africa to name a few), which causes the prices to spike uncontrollably whenever tension arises. In this new world of alternative and renewable energy, will they eventually become hotspots too?
