I have to look for a certain plant that the Aphids like a whole lot more than the bananas… plant it on the periphery so that the Aphids will gravitate towards that instead of the bananas… as much as possible you wouldnt want to attack aphids directly because they flee the danger area and migrate to the other plants in their vicinity… bringing along with them the plant diseases they carry…

Don’t you just love Sunday afternoons talking with relatives? you pick up a lot of information in the mix… hehehe

I started noticing an Aphid infestation in the bananas and this is something I want to put a clamp on before it gets out of hand… because Aphids spread diseases in bananas…

Asking a fellow bananero, he said that I should use some Ditane to get rid of the Aphids… I was looking for a more organic approach (i.e. one that doesn’t burn a hole in the wallet *snicker*) to the problem so I asked around and I found out that you can use garlic/pepper and detergent combination for pest control… hmmmm? I wonder which will do the killing? the detergent or the garlic/pepper combination?… hehehe…

The detergent is there to act as a binder… this it the first time I heard detergents being used as a binder as I am more familiar with the use of a sachet of shampoo *snicker*

Oh well, if it still doesn’t work, there’s always ditane…
