It seems that the Butanding that we saw, feasting on the local plankton at Sarangani Bay last week, are still there.

Just goes to show how clean that bay is…

I hope it becomes a seasonal event so that it will be good for the tourism industry of Sarangani Province….

Lance Armstrong

250px-Lance_Armstrong_AdH01.jpgI had the chance of reading Lance Armstrong’s life story in the Mabuhay magazine of Philippine Airlines that I chanced upon while waiting in somebody’s office.

The guy has led a very inspiring life. He set’s a record for the most number of wins in the Tour de France (7 times). The press was actually referring to it as the Tour de “Lance.” What’s remarkable about it was that he was diagnosed with testicular cancer, was able to recover from it and go on to win a couple more titles. He did it by travelling the hard route. During his therapy, he chose a more difficult path which would spare his lungs from the dangers of chemotherapy. The lungs were his reason for success as they could absorb more oxygen than the average man, which is necessary for endurance runs and sudden bursts of energy.

redbull.gifI know that teams in the PBA make money by entering the championships. But I’m half heartedly sure that they also make money in gate receipts. Rich Alvarez was traded to Red Bull from Alaska forming an almost complete 2002 Ateneo Blue Eagles championship team (with the absence only of Wesley Gonzales). This should be an excellent marketing opportunity for Red Bull to increase the fan base of the Barakos by leveraging the even huger huge fan base that the Ateneo Blue Eagles have.

So how cool would it be then to have an all La Salle team (at least enough to form a starting 5) at the PBA level to continue the rivarly?… way cool!…
