Artest for Peja

For a deal that almost fell through in the final minute, Ron Artest is now officially traded for Peja Stojakovic. Finally, some conclusion to the Ron Artest debacle… the Kings have agreed to trade Artest for their All-Star and injury plagued player, Peja Stojakovic…

To Pacers fans, this might not guarantee a slot in the playoffs but at least it’s a step in the right direction… there is no guarantee also that Peja will stay after this season given that he’s a free agent and the Pacers might not have the cap room to sign him up… if he stays healthy…

Still, for me it means that we finally have a reliable star player and shooter. A legitimate go to guy in the roster if he stays healthy enough. To me that has always been the formula for success, One post up guy in the mold of Jermaine O’neal and somebody to kick-out to once the double team comes. With Reggie Miller retired, that really left a void in the Pacers offense.

it’s about time that the Pacers let go of Artest. it wasn’t good for both sides that he was just sitting in the bench doing nothing. i have Artest in one of my Fantasy teams so this could be good for me. hehe. I read Scottie Pippen’s opinion on the trade and for him, Sacramento got the better side of the deal. He said that Artest is a more solid all-around player compared to Peja who’s forte is scoring. anyways, we’ll see the results in a few days time. :)

I’m hoping that Peja raises his performance since this is his free agency season, have to look good in order to get a good offer :D

well, based on past experiences..when a player gets into his contract’s last year..he usually lifts his game up a level and plays inspired ball. :)

I’m hoping he does because the Pacers need another scorer since Jermaine O’neal is out for 8 weeks with an injury :(
