The day I learned I was going to be a Dad
My wife greeted me with a surprise this morning… yup, it’s confirmed… she’s “infanticipating”… after a year of trying, we finally were able to conceive…
Of course I had to take the very first picture of my kid… two purple lines of a pregnancy test *snicker*… cute little bugger…
We were already suspecting that she was pregnant because of the tell tale signs (nausea, vertigo, excessive saliva production, body pains, etc)… we waited till she was 2 weeks delayed before purchasing a pregnancy test… a little superstition on my part because the last two were negatives…
This afternoon we went to our family doctor for further confirmation as well as advice… Since the symptoms seem to match, she concluded it was positive also… based on her computation, she said that my wife is giving birth on Sept 11, 2006… of course I had to jest if we could induce labor on the 8th instead *snicker*… sept 11 doesn’t quite have a nice ring to it… hehehe… just like his old man, having been born on a day that explosions went off… *snicker*
My wife was then given a prescription for some vitamins as well as a free sample of anmum for future use. Turns out that the anti-flu shot she took a year ago has no effect anymore… oh well, too late to take care of that now… A customary weighing in also of her weight so as to get a baseline for future reference.. I had to remark also that maybe I should have my weight recorded also so that we can see how much poundage I’m going to be losing once this pregnancy starts running it’s course *snicker*…
Before leaving for home I had to ask her if she was craving anything… so that I don’t have to dash back to the city in order to purchase some violet colored mango that she keeps teasing me about…
Well, here’s to the start of another shared experience with my wife … of course I’ve already come to terms with the fact that I should start thinking about making big moolah… vacations over “Dad”… I like the sound of that…
