Scottie Pippen’s Number to be retired…
by the Chicago Bulls… the six time NBA champ will have his number (33) retired and hung beside the greatest (23) who ever played the game…
They might say a lot of negative things about Pip… that he was just lucky to be a sidekick to “The Man” his “Airness” in order to have won all those championships as well as to be touted as one of the 50 greatest to have ever played the game, during the NBA’s 50th year anniversary… but I will always remember him as…
1. the proto-typical point-forward… (point guard and small forward combined)
2. A great defender …
3. versatile… being able to have played all four positions…
4. and a good role player… because not everybody can be “The Man”
Second fiddle might be what he was called… but that’s because he had his Airness as a team mate… who wouldn’t be second fiddle with him around? Let’s face it… without Jordan he couldn’t have won a championship… but without Pip… neither could have Jordan…
