Facebook seems to be the social networking site nipping at Friendster’s heels with it’s immense popularity with students… In order to join Facebook you will have to be a student with a valid .edu email address.

There seems to be a somewhat twist though, as ConnectU has sued for Facebook to be shutdown on the premise that the idea for facebook was stolen from them, since Facebook’s creator (Mark Zuckerberg) once worked with them…

Ok Ok, so I find it weird that the idea was stolen from them given that Facebook launched a few months earlier than ConnectU… then again let’s let the court decide that one…. Not to mention that that is one way not to get users to your site, by being a bad guy and suing the competition… like I’ve said… Everybody hates “the Man”… *snicker*…
