Finally finished reading the operations research book that a friend of mine suggested I read… I finally understand the damn thing… (see! never believe when people tell you that you can’t learn stuff by yourself)…
Heck, I learned to overcome my phobia of algebra and come out of it with a degree in engineering… as well as pursue my love of programming and turn it into a career…
I have to admit that I cheated a bit by plugging the problems in LP_SOLVE and not solving it by hand, I didn’t want to go through the crap of iterating… hey problem definition should be enough for me to get by with… *snicker*
Ok, I can’t say that I am now an expert at OR either… because I just breezed on the chapter which didn’t touch that much on LP (i.e. PERT, Game Theory, Inventory Management and the like)… but heck, one small step at a time… the main reason for me learning this stuff is so that I can plug it into our system using LP_SOLVE…
