Christian Hypocrites…
I went to Mass in the afternoon at the Infant Jesus of Prague Shrine… since we arrived 45 minutes earlier, we decided to do the prayers and candle lightings already, instead of the practice of doing it after the Mass… which of course allowed me to experience the chaos of exiting the parking lot after Mass… first time for me since when I leave, I’m usually one of the three cars left in the parking lot…
Imagine every damn frikking car trying to leave at the same time… the funny thing was that it was like typical Filipino road hog behaviour in the parking lot… nobody wanted to give way so that we could all leave in an orderly fashion… everytime I signalled to be let through each car would just close ranks with the one infront of it… in my exasperation of course I decided to shut the engine and just sit in the car since nobody wanted to let me and others pass… what would it cost to let others pass? but a few seconds right?
To think that we all just came from Church… *snicker* … so much for the spirit of giving and trying to live Christian lives… after leaving Church… we just go back to our old selfish selves… Christian Hypocrites I tell you… goes to Mass for I don’t know what reason… but never practices what is required of us…
I miss driving in the US… sad to say, but they are definitely more courteous than the local drivers here in general… I miss the unwritten rule of the intersection… wherein it’s a first come first served basis… whoever comes first get’s to pass first… break this and you get to experience American horn honking/headlight flashing and cussing…
I have to lament that most drivers here in the Philippines don’t bother seeing farther than the car infront of them… for example, they can’t seem to realize that letting a car pass through in a clogged intersection means it unclogs a jam in the intersection before this one… *sigh*… giving way means helping each other get to our destinations faster…
