20 bucks…
In need of a haircut already, I decided to prowl the streets of the downtown area for a cheap barbershop. I wanted to stay away from those 50 bucks ($0.89) beauty parlors because they take such a long time to cut my hair even though they were so more easily accessible.
I saw my aunt who was heading home while walking in the sidewalk, so I brought her to the jeepney stop so that she wouldn’t be alone while trying to catch a ride home. Sure enough near the jeepney stop was a barbershop offering haircuts for 20 pesos… yup you heard that right, 20 pesos ($0.35)
Being the cheapskate that I am, I decided to snap up the very reasonable offer. So what did I surmise from the experience? Well, definitely you get what you paid for.
It was fast and the barber had the disposition of Oak… stiff as a tree I have to say. The old crud didn’t even bother to change position while cutting my hair, he just swivelled my chair around… I was dizzied in the end. Ever tried having your haircut in a tropical climate without airconditioning? well it’s no fun because sweat beads make your hair stick to your body. Hey did I mention that the blade he used to shave my sideburns was so old it felt as if my sides were being sandpapered… don’t even bother to ask if he wiped it off with alchohol… Nope, not part of the twenty bucks 
So what else did I learn from this experience? Well, that If I walked 3 ft further I would have seen the shop’s sister company… where for 5 bucks more I could have had a haircut in an airconditioned environment *snicker*
hehe..sana ganyan din kamura ang haircut dito..here, it’s double that..and then i give a P10 tip to the barber so that makes it P50..but it’s cheaper than goin to the barber inside the mall triple ang price.
