Grumble…
I went to BPI this morning to do an over the counter transfer to an account in another branch… in another city… in another island…
Of course I knew they would charge me a service fee, given that my money was not worth 20k… I asked help from one of the officers in the branch… she of course gladly agreed to waive the surcharge… when I got to the teller, she wanted to charge me the surcharge… I said that her boss waived it… she of course looked pissed and asked her boss… then proceeded to give me the company templated explanation that amounts less than 20k are to be charged a service fee… she said, I should go to the ATM then withdraw the amount and then give it to her for deposit…
Lady, that … is the most inefficient use of time and resources… I explained to her that it would seem absurd to withdraw money from the ATM outside and then give it to her to deposit… wasting both paper and electricty… unlike doing this method, 1 withdrawal slip and 1 deposit slip = cash transferred… she of course repeated the company template… Rather than debate the topic further, I said thank you and left…
