Skype Experience…

Yesterday evening was spent talking to my old officemates via Skype, the P2P Telephony software created by the guys who made Kazaa.

I have to say that I’ve been wanting to try Skype for the longest time but had no venue to test it at. There was a feature to call up Skype itself to test your setup but that wouldn’t be realistically accurate unless you test it with another person. Most notably the lag was what I wanted to test.

The great thing about it was that we were able to conference ourselves in, 4 people were able to speak simultaneously. Two of these guys were in different locations using Smart Wi-Fi while the central core was using PLDT DSL. The clarity was remarkable… like on a regular phone.

With this I see once again the world passing right in front of me… and me rushing not to be left behind, barely catching up.
