I saw this interesting post by one of the users in our site

There are agency’s which help Filipino’s with Japanese Ancestry migrate to Japan. Strange as it may seem, but a lot of Japanese did work overseas as laborers. I don’t remember though if this was after the war. Given the devastation that it brought to their country, I wouldn’t be surprised with this economic flight of theirs. In Davao, I know there were a lot of them given that they plied the large haciendas here of abaca and copra.

I don’t know why Japan is doing this, but most likely it’s because they want to arrest that dwindling population of theirs. Although they do like to emulate western popculture… westerners are somethign else… not to mention easterners… Japan has go to have one of the strictest’s immigration/entrance policy in the world that I know of. They say, that if you can enter Japan, it would be very easy for you to apply for a visa in the US… so they say.

**erratum: turns out, that the little pocket of Japanese populi in Davao was infact established before the war and not after, whoops! and this is the part where I gently remove this foot out of the side of my head… :-)
