I have to say that I am totally impressed with the tricycles of Davao. Compared with the ones in manila, they can carry more passengers comfortably. I don’t know if they are indigineous to Mindanao or if they can be seen in other provinces. But since time immemorial, this design has been used already in Davao (translation: kahit noong bata pa ako, nandito na itong mga to *snicker*).
There are two variants. One with the motorcycle on the side. I’m assuming that it can carry about 7 average built passengers.
The second has the motorcycle in the center, I think it can carry about 10 passengers. I prefer the latter but I’m assuming that there is more added maintenance, given that there are four wheels instead of 3 in this design
I took these shots with my Palm Zire, while waiting for my wife who was having her haircut. Yup her P49.95 haircut. I just love provincial life *sigh*
