Finally got my mom’s internet back on… it was one of the ugliest hacks ever made… i finally gave up trying to figure out where the interference was coming from that prevented me from cabling more than 9 ft.

So I cabled to 9 ft… put a switch inbetween that, which cascaded with the router, and another cable to my mom’s computer…

After answering her much delayed email’s… she’s happily knocking herself out with yahoo games…

Speaking of games… didn’t know till yesterday that friendster actually offers games already… cool uh?

It’s been a few days already without being able to pull any gravatars from the gravatar site.

Dusted up the old google-fu to see if I could find out what’s wrong and in the process got side tracked to this cached post saying that gravatar needs about 200Gb of bandwidth a month in order to support it’s users. Without sponsorship, that is indeed difficult.

Just to prove to you how OC I can be with regards to stuff that mean to me… while debugging a log-in problem in our site… I actually went to 3 different internet cafe’s to check if the problem still existed… no issues found… hehehe… hoop 1, bugs 0…

Well, if you really love what you are doing… it ain’t no burden to go extreme lengths to accomplish tasks that other people might deem absurd…

I don’t know how I got to Howie Severino’s blog. I remembered starting up from Yuga’s blog, clicking on a random link from his links.. then from their links, jumped on to another link (and so on and so on… get the picture?)… so in other words, I apologize if I forget to give credit to those who put me on this path… err blog…

His post on the little sari sari store known as the Honesty Cafe in Batanes caught my attention… can’t believe there are actually still places like that that we can be proud of… that would be a great tag-line for the tourism industry of Batanes… “the most honest province in the Philippines”… beats being known as typhoon’s pitstop anytime… hehehe.. … Article here
