Big Bang Theorist…
There’s a great interview on CNET with Arno Penzias, one half of the team that formulated the Big Bang Theory that assumed that the Universe started with a giant explosion.
Kinda weird because it discusses his forays into renewable energy, the impending environmental crisis, as well as alluding world changing processes with Alexander the Great’s feat of getting Elephants to cross the Alps… something that big can’t be easily convinced to cross a frikkin chilled mountain.
I was kinda enlightened with Fuel cell technology’s downsides… it’s a replenishable resource alright… but the catch, you create hydrogen… which is an ozone depleting gas… He expounds also on the problems with Wind and Wave technology… as well as the paradigm that solar energy can’t get any cheaper than it is now…
The great thing about watching VC guys is you can bet your career on what the great VC’s are investing at…
Looking at his consulting portfolio… I’d say, alternative energy is one great place to invest in right now… given the fact that electricity costs and gasoline prices aren’t getting any lower. The last time I heard, it costs Php 20,000.00 to have your house solarized… but that’s about 2 years back information… Wind Power for the home? unless everybody lived in Batanes… another thing of course… is converting gasoline vehicles to run in natural gas… I’d like to be given the chance to invest in something like that.
