Comparing with the pioneers of general santos city in mindanao… they were tasked to pave the road from davao to gen. san… in exchange, they were given tracks of land as payment… a lot of them became rich because of that… cultivating the forrests into farmlands with your barehands after building a frikking highway is tough… 50 years later of course those tracks of land were land reformed… as usual they were screwed by government… hehehe…
So what I’m trying to say is… with the lowering of hardware and now broadband access… pretty soon everybody in the Philippines will be online… and that’s a good place to start a business at…
It’s good to have been given the chance to leap frog from 3rd world economy to a 1st world one. It’s like being in a time machine and seeing what your home town is going to be like in a few months…
When I went to the US for a few months because of work I was able to experience the “Web Lifestyle” that Mr. Bill Gates has been touting about in his book, Business at the Speed of thought… Everything I ever needed was online… I wanted to change hotels? no need to call for a reservation, just do it online… and no need to pass through our menopausal office clerk who seemed to be always irritated when I asked her for something… Need to rent an office cubicle and have a phone installed?–online! Need directions to a place? Mapquest… and now Google Maps… the list goes on and on…
All I’m saying is that this isn’t a privilige, this is going to be a way of life… this is the next…and land reform don’t work here baby!
