Davao traffic will drive you insane…
Bring a large bottle of patience and put the airconditioning on high whenever you drive here… so far these are the stuff I’ve experienced that drove me bonkers…
- Taxi’s/jeepney’s cutting me off… slowly… like they never knew I was there.
- Taxi’s/jeepney’s cutting me off while honking… hey I got here first!…
- Cutting me off… with a motorcycle… cripes it’s hard to see these guys weaving through your fenders…
- Blocking an intersection, then once you give them way… moving very slowly…
- Driving very sloooowwwwly…. I understand 60km… but 30 km in a main road??? grarrrrrrr!!!
- Executing a U-Turn unexpectedly…
- Executing a U-turn unexpectedly in a no u-turn allowed island divider… what the???
- Bicycles in the fastlane of the main road…
- Pedestrians/push carts in the middle of the main road… crap, you don’t have a plate no. so you shouldn’t be in the main road.
The great thing though?…
- Not much buses here as public utility vehicles…
- Pollution’s not that bad.
- Traffic is only in the main streets… once I got caught in rush hour and the person I was with was telling me that traffic had gotten worse. All I could say was… wait till you get to Manila or Baguio.
- You know you can always get home within 15-25 min… max..mine is 45, but that’s because I live in the boondock and I drive very slow, 60 kph is already considered fast, while 70 kph is showing off… hehehe
- The traffic dudes are very friendly to motorists… Thank God for the TMG (Traffic Management Group)
