When the 7′4″ Rik Smits was the man filling the center. When the Davis boys were patrolling the shaded lane. When Mark Jackson was calling the shots. When Mckey was doing the yeoman’s job and point-forward was the “in” thing. When they beat Orlando, Atlanta then succumbed to the Knicks in the Eastern Conference finals of 1994. That season started it all for the Pacers for a near-consistent appearance at the Eastern Conference Finals.
