Expedite…
Just came back from a wild adventure at Roxas Boulevard… courtesy of the Department of Foreign Affairs… this is one of the few instances wherein I have sweated(is there such a wordage?) so profusely in my life without being in a desert… not to mention I was in airconditioning… I guess that’s the effect of fever on you… hehehe
I had to go there personally since I needed my passport ASAP… the regular on-line hassle free method would give it to me in 9 working days… in order to get it within 3 working days I had to go there and file it directly… I wonder why they don’t allow that?
Well of course I’m taking my sweet time since I have no to desire to travel to Shanghai and meet wifey’s ancestors… hehehe… since I’m officially taking my sweet time and crapping out on this project… kidding… I just hate travelling that’s all…
Well I can’t complain since God has been good to me today… I left around 6:30 AM… like in the movie Bruce Almighty… the roads were clear and it was go-go-go… I was able to find parking when I got there at 7AM… of course me the typical O.C. was worried whether the car was still going to be there when I got back… I got in line easily and didn’t get lost because the guards were oh-so friendly… I guess that’s because you weren’t dealing with cops… hehehe…
So the waiting might have been a killer and some guys who were arranging us (herding’s more like it) were kind of arrogant… one got mad at me because he said my papers weren’t complete… then the guy beside me told me to have my passport xeroxed… and I said… oh so that’s why he was pissed of… I promptly pulled out my envelope where I placed my photocopies and filed them with my passport and application form… but I have to say that they were very helpful… for instance… the guy who got mad at me came back to staple my papers himself and told me not to look for a stapler anymore… also since there were more for renewal than new applicants, they switched some of the windows to us…
The guy who got my papers also just looked at me and didn’t ask anymore questions… unlike the guy infront of me who was asked a lot of stuff and had to comeback with an NBI clearance…
In the line I was talking to a lady beside me… she was a DH in Hongkong… she got terminated from her job and was back, but she was getting her papers ready since she was going back to her old boss in august… she earns about 22k a month… not quite that good I think… but I guess that’s better than the 10k she was earning as a teacher…
I was in touch with my ex- also since I was asking her where the DFA is… I’ve been passing these gov’t buildings since Sept because of my wedding preparations and I haven’t gotten to noticing what these tall buildings in Roxas were… hehehe… the quick conversation turned to business when I told her that I had quit my job and was moving back to Davao… she pointed me to some people who might be interested in putting up a business together… have to set up a meeting with them to see if we have the same ideas… hehehe… how’s that for a clincher eh?
The roads home were clear and traffic free… I decided to just head for home instead of the office since the fever was making me whoozy… I was able to sneak in an hour of rest and a 10 minute lunch… before I have to login and start working again…
God has blessed me today… I was expecting something bad… but he lit my path and guided me through it…
Thank You Lord!
